Won't You Be My Neighbor?
There were giant trees knocked down everywhere like the one in the first picture of this post. I have never seen the underside of a tree this size before. Crazy.
There are several different neighbors that say they heard a tornado come through our neighborhood during the hurricane. They say it sounded like a million people screaming and wailing. Creepy. We didn't stick around for that fun... we ran for cover to my mom's house where there are less trees.
We have brick walls that run around the front of our houses. The second picture is of one of those walls completely knocked down. Such was the case for a hand full of our neighbors. These walls were knocked down by the force of the wind... not by trees.
The last picture is of the pile of debris our neighbors across the street collected while cleaning up their property. Man oh man. Spencer called the pile a nest. He called every other pile of debris a nest too. There were piles in front of everyone's yard (except in the newer subdivision without trees) so Spencer hollered out, "Nest! Nest! Nest! Nest!" as we were driving here and there for about a month. How many birds do you think it would take to make a nest like that?!

When I was told your fence came down I was imagining a fence not a brick wall!! Holy Cow!
